Patrick Riddle is a real estate investor that has, along with his friends, bought, leased, and sold over 100 properties. After growing up in Lexington, South Carolina, Riddle began attending Clemson University as a civil engineering student. In the summer of 2001 his life was changed when he met an investor who was bringing in $2,000 a month whether he worked or not. Riddle and his friends visited an investor’s seminar in Atlanta, Georgia in the fall of 2002 to learn more about how they could become successful investors. Several months later they had purchased their first investment property. Prior to this, Riddle and his friends read the books Making Big Money in Real Estate without Tenants, Banks, or Rehab Projects and How to Make Millions in Real Estate in 3 Years with No Cash. Though he had never been an avid reader, Riddle found advice and a love for nonfiction through these books. They went to another seminar in Atlanta after their purchase, and they decided together that they were going to drop out of school the following semester. They have since become successful investors though Riddle gives a great deal of credit to the mentors he had early in his career. Today he writes blogs and books to teach others to avoid beginner’s mistakes and get on the path to real estate success. In 2003 Riddle started a book club that meets every week. He has learned a lot through it, and has read over 200 books in the last several years on topics ranging from business to philosophy. Each day he enjoys writing more and more too, and today he writes for his own blog. Some of his other hobbies include playing piano, art, cooking, wine, and sports like snowboarding, wake boarding, and beach volleyball.
